Article Submissions:
BrownSkin Weddings is always interested in adding contributors to our blog. We welcome submissions from photographers, vendors, artists, and writers with unique perspectives on weddings and what brides of color are looking for.
Our most treasured contributors are the brides, themselves! We would love to spotlight your wedding: from “will you marry me?” to “you may now kiss the bride,” BrownSkin Weddings will cover your transition from Ms. to Mrs.! Record your planning process, wedding design, DIY projects, ceremony, reception, honeymoon and more, using the free BrownSkin Wedding blogs.
If interested, condense all your files and images into a .zip file submit using our contact form. Or, email the .zip file to submissions @ BrownskinWeddings.com. Please enter “Article Submission” as the subject. Also, be sure to include your contact information, a short bio, and a link to your website or blog (if appropriate.) Please let us know if your submission has appeared online or been submitted to other blogs.
Guidelines for the article
• The submission must be original and your own words.
• The article should have at least 500 words (doc, pdf, txt) and 2 images (jpg, gif, png).
• If you are using sources of inspiration for your article please quote them with links to the original work.
• Articles with advertising and/or affiliate marketing will not be accepted; however, we will link the article back to your site or blog.
Photo/Inspiration Submissions:
Select anywhere from 10 – 20 photos that tell the story of your big wedding day. We like all photos but remember we want to see the detail of your wedding style. Try to include pictures of your cake, bouquet, invitations, bridesmaids and groomsmen, candy favors, etc. with a mix of the big moments from your day. And of course a few couple shots of you and your new spouse!
Please include your name and phone number, the date of your wedding, and the location the wedding took place, along with your photographer’s contact information. You can email your photos to us at submissions@brownskinweddings in one of the following formats:
1. JPEG (.jpg), GIF (.gif), PNG (.png), or PSD (.psd)
2. a link to your website profile where you’ve posted the images on Brownskin Weddings
3. a link to your photographer’s website, with related passwords to your photos
4. a link to your Flickr or other photo sharing site
Please remember to Include the following information in the body of the email:
1. Your names, phone numbers, and email addresses
2. Wedding date including city, state, and location of your ceremony & reception
3. Your photographer’s name, phone number, email, and website
4. Any other special details you’d like us to know about your wedding!
Due to the high volume of submission, we will contact you only if we plan to use your pictures, and cannot guarantee return of photocopies. Weddings will be kept on file for one year from the wedding date.
